A Splendid Summer Wedding at Yeldersley Hall

“The photos are AMAZING! We love them, you’ve captured the whole day perfectly and so beautifully and have given us everlasting memories, thank you so much!!”

Scott & Lorna got married at the beginning of August at the amazing Yeldersley Hall in Derbyshire. A real hidden gem among wedding venues, Yeldersley Hall is a gorgeously traditional English country house with everything needed for an elegant celebration.

The weather was glorious, the sun high & hot. Wedding guests were treated to prosecco and ice cream in the courtyard before the ceremony. I had a few scoops myself 🙂

The bride got ready with her mum & bridesmaids in a bridal suite overlooking the courtyard, reached by a very cool ornate spiral staircase. It was great fun to spy on the guests below.

Following the wedding ceremony, cocktails and canapes were served inside the walled garden (this venue has everything!) and everyone had a great time eating, drinking, and playing lawn games.

The games continued after the wedding breakfast when the beer pong table came out. This went down a storm with family & friends, and one of my favourite images is of the bride downing a shot from the red cup!

Relaxed & Natural Photos At Yeldersley Hall

Wedding photography at Yeldersley Hall is a joy. It’s easy to slow things down and let the couple enjoy a relaxed & natural experience. I’m not a fan of heavily posed photos but with such extensive grounds to explore it was easy to let the bride & groom wander without direction. I firmly believe it’s up to us photographers to capture the essence & authenticity of the couple without making a nuisance of ourselves or spoiling the moment. Leave the naff poses in the bin!

It was my absolute honour to be involved on this wedding day. Huge thanks to Scott & lorna for having me along!

I hope you enjoy this small selection of photos from the day.

If you’re planning a wedding in Derbyshire and you’re considering Yeldersley Hall as your venue, please get in touch– I’d love to hear from you!

Bespoke Weddings at Yeldersley Hall

Yeldersley Hall was formerly a grand country estate that originally boasted over 700 acres of land. At its heart is a magnificent Georgian manor house. It has been sympathetically restored, retaining many original features, and is now available for elegant, exclusive, truly bespoke weddings in the heart of Derbyshire.

My favourite part of the Yeldersley Hall estate is the walled garden area; it’s pure magic. Check out Scott & Lorna’s wedding guests playing lawn games (and later, beer pong) in the photos above!

A Traditional Country House Wedding

The traditional country house boasts an elegant function room which used to be the billiard room of the hall. This room licensed for civil wedding ceremonies, or it can be a tasteful space for the wedding reception. The versatile room accommodates up to 60 guests seated for a meal, or up to 80 for the wedding ceremony. The room can also be enlarged with an adjoining marquee to allow seating for 80 guests.

A grand oak fireplace provides a stunning focal point and a beautiful backdrop for photographs. Large French windows open out onto a private terrace with extensive gardens beyond, which guests are free to explore. Watch out for the free-range chickens!

Wedding guests can freely wander the hall & grounds. When the time comes, there’s a beautifully decorated lounge to relax in with cocktail or glass of fizz! Wedding caterers will have full use of the original kitchen of the Hall for them to work their culinary magic.

Five-Star Wedding Accommodation

Brides & grooms can also book Yeldersley Hall’s five-star holiday accommodation as part of their bespoke wedding package. Check out the pictures of the gorgeous Lorna in the large suite used for bridal preparations! The rooms are really lovely and how amazing would be to have your closest family & friends staying with you at the hall. One of my favourite memories from my own wedding was simply having breakfast the next morning with my family, slightly worse for wear.

The owners of Yeldersley Hall are keen to let you celebrate your wedding your own way. They offer a truly bespoke service where no requirement is ever too big or too small. The staff at Yeldersley want you to have the best wedding day ever! They do not dictate an all-inclusive package and instead allow you to bring in your own catering, entertainment and decorations if you wish to do so.

I am really looking forward to returning to this wonderful Derbyshire wedding venue!
