Creative Documentary Wedding Photography at a Stunning Lancashire Venue
Mitton Hall wedding photography is always a pleasure. It’s one of my favourite wedding venues in Lancashire. The staff are fabulous, the old hall oozes character and it has wonderful layered grounds for your wedding guests to explore.
I specialise in creative & natural documentary photography to suit couples who want amazing pictures with minimum fuss. Have a browse through this selection of photographs from the wedding of Rachel & Nick to get a real feel for the type of images I offer.
Planning A Lancashire Wedding? Consider Mitton Hall!
If you’re planning your own Lancashire wedding and you’re still on the hunt for the perfect venue, please check out Mitton Hall! It has bags of character, with a 15th century great hall, roaring fireplaces, chandeliers and the wonderful staff treat you like royalty. It has options to suit a variety of budgets and you can even hire out the entire venue exclusively for your wedding.
Our bride & groom were married at this country house hotel, lovingly restored by the geniuses behind James’ Places, a company that owns several luxury wedding venues around the UK. With James’ Places running the show, you know everything is going to be perfect on the big day.
Also, very pleased to report I didn’t break any antique furniture on this visit (it was touch & go with a dining table though).
Bridal Preparations before the Wedding
Rachel prepared for her wedding just down the road from Mitton Hall in a quintessential English village. Bridesmaids & mum were there to help. Doesn’t she look incredible?
Dad arrived just before we left for the ceremony, looking dapper in his morning suit. One look at Rachel in her wedding dress was all it took; the tears started to flow! In that instant, Mum broke down, bridesmaids were crying, the bride welled up & it got very emotional. A lovely moment!
Mitton Hall Hotel Wedding Ceremony
Before long the bridal party were off in vintage wedding cars to Mitton Hall for the wedding ceremony. The groom Nick looked calm & cool under the circumstances!
An emotional but happy ceremony was followed by cocktails on the terrace with family & friends. A good excuse to break out the wide-angle lens and get up close & personal, ninja-style. The bride & groom were keen on unposed, natural & relaxed wedding photography.
Best Men’s Speech
One of my favourite parts of the day was the best men’s speech. They told the guests a series of funny, cringeworthy & genuine stories from the bride & groom’s time as a couple. The guests then used a green or red card to indicate whether the bride or groom was guilty. I love seeing the happy couple squirm with embarrassment!
Your Mitton Hall Wedding Photographer
I’ve been lucky enough to photograph several amazing weddings at Mitton Hall in Lancashire. The venue has great scope for creative portraits and natural reportage photography, both of which I love.
It was great to work with Tom at Tom Harrington Films for the first time too. A superb, discrete videographer who didn’t get in the way at all (I’m sure he’ll say the same thing about me. Possibly).
A fabulous day with love, laughter & tears. Congratulations again to Rachel & Nick, you were amazing. Thank you for having me along & trusting me to do what I love to do.
