A raucous fun-filled tipi wedding at Kings Acre in Cheshire to share with you on the blog today! One of those amazing days that goes past in a blur, with so much excitement & joy it makes your head spin. We had churches, camper vans, farms, tipis, canoes, wellies, lakes, a capsized Mother of the Bride & Mother of the Groom (that’d be those canoes I mentioned) & an epic dance off that resulted in one of the most notorious images I’ve ever captured (bare bellies a few millimeters from my lens left very little to the imagination). Frantic scenes 🙂
Alan & Katrina were married at St Mary’s Church in Budworth before heading over in a camper van to Kings Acre, a hidden gem of a Cheshire venue. Much to the surprise of the guests, the wedding reception was being held in a glorious tipi! I do love a surprise venue!
Katrina wore a David Tutera dress while Alan looked every inch the modern groom in French Connection. Hair & makeup (Katrina’s, not Alan’s) was by Lynette Page. It’s always great to meet new wedding suppliers & Katrina had chosen the best! The bridal bouquet was made by the Flower Emporium in Northwich while the venue was dressed by Katrina herself.
Although we may have been on the chilly end of spring, the sun when it came out was glorious & really added to the festival atmosphere. So much so that it wasn’t long before the guests were rowing canoes around the boating lake (quickly followed by our bride, groom, bridesmaids & groomsmen). Amazingly, no one fell in. Up to that point.
Then Alan’s mum & Katrina’s mum decided THEY wanted to go in the canoe (kayak?) as well. Unfortunately, one of the groomsmen pushed the boat a little too hard and, well….I’ll let you look at what happened next…
A really fabulous wedding day at a truly unique venue with an amazing couple. I love this job.
