Cherry Orchard Lake wedding photography featuring Sarah and Graeme, a vintage bus, a broken arm, love, food, and wellies.
A Chester Wedding Ceremony
Our bride and groom married at Chester Town Hall and celebrated their wedding at a new venue for me, the amazing Cherry Orchard Lake at Delamere forest. Cherry Orchard Lake has a tipi and, no surprises, a lake. It’s nestled inside a disused quarry in the heart of the Cheshire countryside. Completely unique, outdoorsy and perfect for that festival feel the bride & groom were aiming for. It really is a photographer’s dream wedding venue.
Sarah had explained before the wedding day that her fiancé Graeme really hated having his photographs taken. As usual, my quiet approach of creative documentary photography was just subtle enough to capture the groom naturally and authentically. I got his genuinely happy, smiley face that I bet he usually hides from any nearby cameras. Sarah was impressed! ?
An Amazing Tipi Wedding Reception
The newlyweds had really gone to town on the details, making the tipi an amazing space to wander around, inside and out. Firepits for the evening, marshmallow toasting, space hoppers, tin can alleys, giant Jenga (other brands are available), hoopla and more.
Things got competitive during a sack race and one male guest went arse-over-tit, dislocating his shoulder. Ouch. Luckily one of the other guests was a trained paramedic and rushed him off to the nearest hospital. He made a full recovery and is now desperate for a rematch.
Fantastic Staff at Delamere Events Cheshire
Cherry Orchard Lake is run by the wonderful team at Delamere Events (thanks to Ryan and the rest of the staff for your hospitality, looking forward to working together again soon!). The amazing food was by Smohk and Mischief (and it was amazing, I’m not just saying that because they sorted me out with a massive selection of grub) and the guests enjoyed a help-yourself style barbecue/feast that really contributed to the chilled-out vibe. The whole day was a wonderful, laid-back affair and I was thrilled to photograph it for them (with the help of the indefatigable Andy Griffiths, my wingman for the day). We even managed to grab a frame with REAL FIRE, something I’ve been hankering to do for a while.
This was a simply stunning autumnal outdoor wedding. Thank you to the bride and groom for your enthusiasm and trust on the day! Here are some of my favourites from Sarah & Graeme’s festival-themed Cherry Orchard Lake wedding by Delamere Events. Thanks for stopping by!
