Andrew was AMAZING! He was great on the day and kept everyone calm and relaxed; we didn’t know he was there half the time! He’s provided fantastic pictures to look back on.

Looking For Awesome Chateau Rhianfa Wedding Photos?

An amazing Chateau Rhianfa wedding to share with you today!

Hold on to your big wedding hats, it’s a good one.

Vicky & Richard tied the knot on Easter Sunday in the gorgeous and unique Grade II-listed Chateau Rhianfa in North Wales.

Chateau Rhianfa is one of the most stunning Welsh wedding venues I’ve ever seen.

A French-style castle perched above the Menai Strait overlooking Snowdonia, this Chateau is a dream location for getting married!

The couple fell instantly in love with the picturesque grounds, awesome turrets, old-world interior and of course: the jaw-dropping views!

I’m so grateful to have photographed Vicky & Richard’s magical day here and I’m thrilled to share it with you.

Getting Ready for an Elegant Spring Welsh Wedding

The wedding started with a typical spring morning in the North of Wales- wet & windy!

Luckily, we were warm & sheltered in the castle’s coach house where the bride prepared for her big day with all her mates.

It was great to work with such a fun family, especially Dad. He never stopped grinning all morning!

The bridal party had their hair & makeup done by Christopher Millea. Vicky & the bridesmaids all looked stunning.

Spring was definitely in the air when the sweet yellow bouquet of flowers arrived. Such a striking colour & a fantastic job by Acacia Florists of Anglesey. Obviously, the flowers had to incorporate daffodils, the Welsh national flower and very fitting for a Welsh wedding!

Umbrellas sheltered our bride as she made her way to the castle & her waiting fiancé.

Vicky & Richard got married in the lavish banqueting hall, joined by their friends & family. What a gorgeous room to photograph the wedding ceremony in! All dark wood & huge windows, the perfect combination of light & shadow. I’m a huge fan of contrast in my wedding photographs.

Vicky wore a gorgeous Justin Alexander dress while Richard looked dapper in Ted Baker. Apart from a brief moment when Richard’s finger seemed too big for his wedding ring (it was rather hot in there, to be fair), everything went beautifully. Tears were shed, vows were made & two became one.

And just like that, the rain stopped & the sun came out. Now the really fun part, celebration time! It was great to work with my friends at Papertwin Weddings too, such a professional & discreet approach to the videography.

Natural & Relaxed Photographs on the Menai Strait

Later in the day, I took the newlyweds for a stroll down to the rocky shore of the Menai Strait. Notice their bright yellow wellies, essential equipment 🙂

We spent a few minutes capturing some very relaxed moments before the sun finally slipped beneath the horizon and this Chateau Rhianfa wedding was drawing to a close; with just the small matter of a first dance to come! Baker Wicked, a fabulous live band were on hand to get the castle rocking before I slipped quietly away into the night.

I hope you enjoy this small sample of images from my wedding at Chateau Rhianfa. I’d love to go back there again so please get in touch if you’re considering this gem of a venue for your own wedding. Thanks for looking!
