A Broadoaks Country House Wedding in Cumbria
A Winter Wedding in the Lake District
Had to share this gem of a day from Nicola and Lee’s wedding at Broadoaks Country House in the Lake District.
Just a stone’s throw from Windermere, the views are unbeatable.
They opted for an indoor ceremony—February’s chill made sure of that.
As someone who’s shot weddings around here before, a bit of weather hardly fazes me.
I had my big coat on and everything.
Back to Broadoaks Country House
I’ve been eager to shoot a wedding here since attending one a few years back.
This time, thankfully, I was on the job and not on the drinks!
Special Touches at this Lake District Venue
Nicola and Lee’s day was packed with personal moments.
From their son, Jack, getting his bow-tie adjusted by his nan, to Nicola’s brothers stepping in to walk her down the aisle in place of their dad—a mix of pride and poignancy.
The Fun Bits
And yes, trying to photograph their lively dogs added the usual chaos you’d expect when kids and pets are involved.
Nicola looked stunning in a simple yet elegant dress by Kate Halfpenny, and Lee was sharp in Hugo Boss.
The cake, courtesy of Helen Matthews, and tunes from “We Have You Covered” (pun appreciated), rounded off the day perfectly.
