“WE CAN’T EVEN REMEMBER YOU BEING AROUND TAKING THE PHOTOGRAPHS- OBVIOUSLY A NINJA!”
Eloise and Chris got married this summer at the beautiful Belsfield Hotel, which is a stunning hotel in the Lake District. It was the most beautiful wedding and the sun shone all day long!
Bridal Preparations in the Hotel
Eloise got ready at the Belsfield Hotel with her bridesmaids and the atmosphere was so relaxed. Chris came up trumps with a lovely gift for his bride- a set of Tiffany earrings (good lad!). Our groom Chris got ready just down the hall from Eloise. His young nephew Harry was on top form as pageboy for the day. After being helped into her dress, Eloise only had a short walk to the ceremony room downstairs. I do love it when bridal preparations happen in the same venue as the ceremony, it really takes so much stress out of the morning when you’re not worrying about cars turning up or distant relatives getting lost on the way to to church 🙂
A Wedding Ceremony at the Belsfield
The ceremony room at the Belsfield Hotel is a rather grand affair, with high windows treating us to a wonderful view of Windermere. Even with a lot of friends & family present the ceremony still felt incredibly intimate. Eloise was walked up the aisle by her mum as everyone in the room either beamed or cried. It was such a personal service and so beautiful. The light from outside was just perfect for photographs.
An Outdoor Reception
The reception was out in the garden at the venue. The sun was shining and the drinks were flowing. The bride & groom chose the Belsfield Hotel because it has so many options for any type of wedding, it’s got that Laura Ashley magic inside and out, and they just fell in love with it. It was a classic wedding, which meant elegance, style and sophistication. I love shooting Lake District weddings because the surroundings are absolutely delicious. Rain or shine, a wedding at the Belsfield Hotel in the Lake District is going to be stunning. Owned by Laura Ashley, I’d expect no less!
A Wedding Cruise on Windermere
After the wedding breakfast and speeches, the bride and groom had hired a boat for the guests to cruise on Windermere. The last time I did something similar it was late autumn and a bit chilly, so I was well up for a hot summer cruise! The sunset over the lake was amazing and all the guests were in great spirits. The best bit was when a water skier fell off her skis just as we went past, to the delight of the guests 🙂
As we returned to the venue to start the evening party, we were treated to an amazing sunset. Chris & Eloise were slowly walking up the hill to the hotel so I quickly grabbed my wide-angle lens for a few stunning landscape photographs as they meandered through the scene.
What an incredible wedding to be a part of! Thank you to Chris & Eloise for having me along. If you’re planning your own Belsfield Hotel wedding in the Lakes, please get in touch.
