The Ashes Barns Wedding Photography – Helen & Nick

A Winter Wedding at the Ashes Barns
My first wedding of 2017 and at a brand new venue for me, the Ashes Barns in Staffordshire, a sign of fabulous things to come! Who said January is a month to stay indoors? Not Helen & Nick anyway! The weather may have been chilly but my cockles were warmed by the genuine love & affection between this gorgeous pair and their friends & family. I know I say this a lot but it's so true- I'm privileged to be invited along on these most special of days, something that is never ever going to get old.
A winter wedding never fails to disappoint. Yes, it goes dark by 3pm, but this is England- it seems like winter for 351 days a year, we're used to it. The bonus for getting married at this time of the year are the amazing sunsets; something about the extreme angle of the sun makes for really delicious light. We made full use of the epic rays until the golden glow dipped behind the trees and it was time to seek warmer surroundings!
Helen rocked a fabulous tea-length House of Mooshki dress, how amazing does she look against that crisp winter scenery? Especially after the ceremony when she pulled on the emergency wellies & stomped around the duck pond 🙂
It was a pleasure to photograph my first Ashes Barns wedding. I was ably assisted on the day by Robert Alexander Photography.
Thanks for stopping by & be sure to get in touch if you would like to discuss my availability for your own special day.
